TPO staff are working to update the Travel Demand Model with new information from the 2010 Census as it becomes available. The model is used in development of the Long Range Transportation Plan to forecast traffic growth and expected needs for the transportation system.
Seelye, Stevenson, Value & Knechton Inc. has been chosen as the consultant for the Regional Transit Corridor Analysis. Some of the products of this study will be a recommendation of corridors in our area that will support intentensive transit in the next 20 years. In addition, a set of best practices to help guide implementation of the plan will be created.
A $31.4 million project to widen State Route 62, also known as Western Avenue, from Schaad Road to Interstate-640 is now under way. To keep the public informed on the progress of the SR-62 project, TDOT has created a project website, www.tdot.state.tn.us/SR62.
