Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture & Deployment Plan
The Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture and Deployment Plan, completed in December 2012, are critical components in the planning and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems projects in the Knoxville Region.
The "Regional ITS Architecture Report" provides information about the ITS services that are applicable to the Knoxville Region, identifies all stakeholders, describes the data flows necessary to facilitate interoperability between multiple agencies for a specific ITS element and provides an inventory of the existing ITS systems and future needs for the Region.
The "Regional ITS Deployment Plan" provides a specific and prioritized list of identified ITS projects to be implemented in the Knoxville Region.
A special "Sevier County Tourist Corridor ITS Master Plan" was also completed in order to specifically investigate potential ITS solutions for the unique transportation challenges that exist in Sevier County within the communities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg related to the tremendous amount of seasonal tourist traffic.
